Welcome to Second Grade at Old Pointe Elementary!

Second grade is so much fun at Old Pointe Elementary! We build upon the foundations from first grade by deepening our understanding of key concepts.

  • Writing : We expand on personal narratives, informational books, and opinion writing.
  • Reading: We explore the author’s craft and learn to support our thoughts and opinions with evidence from the books we read.
  • Math: We collaborate with our peers to solve problem-based tasks and build stronger problem-solving skills.
  • Social Studies: We study communities, cultural contributions, government, and goods and services.
  • Science: We investigate magnets, weather, force and motion, and animals.

At Old Pointe Elementary, second grade is a year full of growth, exploration, and discovery!
